From Willie:

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers! Kathy was able to get up and take a couple of steps last night. She was up most of last night due mostly to having slept most of yesterday and being checked every 2 hours. She was comfortablely bored but had a great nursing staff that came in and spent time with her.

Her doctor came in this morning and he was still very elated with how well everything went. He commented again that he'd like to use Kathy's prayer warriors next week. He reiterated that he removed the sizeable cyst and everything looked clean. Today - continue to increase her fluid intake and start going for short walks. She would love to see some smiling faces. Thanks again! You guys are awesome!!!

God....YOU ROCK! (Updated)

From Willie:  Just talked to the surgeon and he's done. He removed the cyst. There were no implants anywhere else. No lesions and everything looked clean. Dr was thrilled. No chemo planned. God is good!

From Nicole:  I was gone when Willie called but in his message the joy in his voice brought tears to my eyes.  He said the surgeon asked if he could borrow the prayer list for his next week surgeries b/c her surgery which took two hours should have taken four.  Whatever we did worked!!  God was guiding those hands!!!!!!!!

Please keep praying for a fast recovery!  Thank you EVERYONE!

Update:  She has been moved to room 1126 - in a lot of pain but in good spirits!

Update......

Willie sent this message my way....

Surgery started at 9:24 - she went back with no worries except for the kids.  She's amazing.

As most of you are aware, Kathy is a 2 time cancer survivor. During her annual follow up appointment, the doctor has discovered an active spot that appears to be a reoccurrence. She is scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday, September 22nd, to remove the spot and explore for any additional implants. Her oncologist believes that unless he finds something else, that the surgery should take care of it with no chemo but we won’t know until after the surgery. There is concern over the complexity of the surgery due to scar tissue that exists from previous surgeries and chemo. She will be hospitalized for 5–10 days with a 4-6 week recovery at home.
Kathy's surgery is at Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia SCWed Sept 22 at 9:00Surgeon Dr. James Williams and another general surgeon ??It will be a 5+ hours surgery.

Note from Kathy: I believe very strongly in Christ's love for me and his awesome power. If you will join together and pray over me during my surgery and healing. There are many things during surgery that can be prayed over from my body to accept help and healing to a pathway being cleared so that my surgeon can see clearly and smoothly to get to the tumor that must be removed from my body. As well as the physical strength for my surgeons and clarity of mind and accuracy of their hands, to the anesthetician who will be keeping me safe while I am sedated, to the nurses who will assist the surgeons and care for me as I heal. Pray for a sacred shield to protect me in that operating room from any harm or trouble. Pray for my husband Willie that he be given peace and strength as well as for my 2 daughters Maggie and Millie that they will feel safe and secure and peaceful that I am okay. You get my drift. Keep on praying... Keep on praying... Keep on praying. May you all be blessed during this time you spend with the Lord.

In Christ Love,Kathy Linder
